Once upon a time...
some talented actors got together and kicked butt! In some scenes, it happened literally. We have a dynamic, super cool family man, "JAMES LEE" who is recently widowed, and raising his 2 adopted children, Samantha, a tomboy teenager and younger son Presley. (Yes-named after Elvis)...
"JAMES LEE" is a leader in his community, who finds a way to make peace with his words or by force, when absolutely needed. He owns a martial arts studio named RISING SUN in the inner city of Los Angeles. He's also a practitioner of Eastern Medicine. He becomes closer to his father-in-law "FRANK CHRISTOPHER" (a medical doctor) since the recent loss of James's wife. Together they have an unlikely, colorful group of friends helping raise the 2 children. It is clear that it does take a community to nuture children in these modern day family situations.

GARRETT WANG
as "James Lee"
Garrett Wang is such a generous and extremely talented actor with a great sense of humor. We knew we wanted a hip dad who could ride a motorcycle and show strength. Not one of those silly sitcom dads, but a modern day "Father Knows Best." The character "James Lee" is exactly the kind of guy families want to see on weekly television...young, fresh, and a different kinda cool.
As an actor he has a devoted fan base from his long stint on "STAR TREK: VOYAGER." He's not only a fan favorite, but ours too! He was cast for his depth as an actor, commitment and unique persona very different from that of "Ensign Kim." In "RISING SUN" he did he own stunts, and allowed us the opportunity to use his line of cool tees from Cosmic City. We simply can't imagine anyone else in this role. Our goal is for him to direct this show and become as involved as he wants with every episode.
CARMEN ARGENZIANO
as "Frank Christopher"
Carmen Argenziano is a mesmerizing actor. He has fans from his many television appearances, in particular "STARGATE." This is our 2nd Scifi association by chance. As a Lifetime Member of The Actor's Studio, he has countless credits in many of our favorite films working with Ron Howard, Jonathon Demme, Johnny Depp, Tom Hanks and more. He is "Frank Christopher" the father-in-law of "James Lee." In this role, he's not the "grand-fatherly" type, but very real. And his character shows us that we can find love again, and learn new things. Life always has something to offer. We are incredibly blessed to have his talents on this project and truly honored. EVERYBODY loves Carmen!

DEE FREEMAN
as "Olivia Jackson"
Dee Freeman hears all too often how great she pulls off super sassy. True. She also has extensive theatre experience showing, an otherwise, wide range as an actress. But, we really love her sassy! She has various credits that go back to "Seinfeld", "Young & the Restless", "Cold Case" and recently "Dexter", "Brothers & Sisters." She also has a growing fan base on a web series going into it's 4th season and several films. She makes the character "Olivia Jackson" truly funny. No one but Dee can do this! We love our Dee. And ready for more laughs!!!
EILEEN GRUBBA
as "Jeri Dawn Ehlers"
Eileen Grubba is described above all as an inspiration to so many. She has been kicking down casting doors and making it better for the next generation, while booking great roles. She is also a Lifetime Member of The Actor's Studio. She is flying all over the USA for some amazing lead roles. We are blessed to have her smile on our show. She acually arrived on our set shortly after shooting the 2011 season opener for "CSI: Miami." We wanted a sweetheart, but with a backbone and spunk. Someone who would know when and where to take action for the role of "Jeri Dawn Ehlers." We definitely want to see her great comedic skills more on our show. KATE SCOTT
as "Samantha Lee"
KATE SCOTT has been in the entertainment industry most of her young life. It hasn't spoiled her because this old soul has a naural sense of self and independence from growing up in the inner city of northeast Los Angeles. She jumped on the stage at The World Famous Laugh Factory, at 6 years of age and getting funnier as she returns again and again. The role of "Sam" is fun for her, because she plays a no fuss tomboy, outfit repeater AND she loves the cast and action! She has incorporated martial arts into her life which began for this role and that will always be an accomplishment in itself. Besides, producing 3 projects, she had her directorial debut in 2014 with the AC GREEN LEADERSHIP BASKETBALL DOCUMENTARY. The documentary & NOBODY'S PERFECT screened in their own time slot at festival where she was nominated as "Best Young Filmmaker" and got runner-up for "Best Sports Documentary." There's so much more to come!
JOSE ROSETE
as "Joey Lopez"
Jose Rosete is such a gem. He works all the time because he IS one of the most diverse actors in Hollywood with credits into 2013. He will wear braids, rock a Fro, and shave all of his hair for a role. Totally different. He was actually considered for the role of "James" but we knew something about him would bring life to "Joey Lopez" and were even more surprised to see he did that and more! After seeing all his tough guys role, it is fantastic to see him as the very funny "Joey." He can write his own ticket in this town. Keep up with Jose at:
TREY CARLISLE
as "Shane Jackson"
Trey Carlisle is so respectful. He is known for his role as "Earl Jr" on MY NAME IS EARL." One thing about having him on the set is his awareness to help others and make it a better day. He is sunshine and that is why his musical talents come as no surprise. He sings, raps, plays piano and guitar...mostly in his church. We love the Carlisles and their involvement in community. Trey being cast as the son of sassy "Olivia" requires those very, genuine gifts. He is our "Shane Jackson" a smart, kind kid and good friend to our tomboy "Sam" and "Mark."
JOSHUA BOSWELL
as "Dean Armstrong"
Joshua Boswell has the James Dean good looks and talent! We met him shortly after he booked the "Love Bug" video for the JONAS BROTEHRS when they were at their peak a few years ago. Joshua was quickly studying acting in Hollywood. Later he did another huge music video for GREEN DAY'S "21 Guns." His dedication paid off as he prepared and worked the stunts for our show. What he did with his character made us want to see more of him in our post production. Fortunately we got him a 2nd time. Big things are in store for him because he is very dedicated to his craft.

KAMIL HAQUE
as "Bobby"
Kamil Haque is a strong actor. The best bet for our zany "Bobby." We are excited to see him fit into our cast because he is so giving and passionate. As soon as we saw his work, we began talking "spin off!" He shares his talents as he teaches at Strasberg Institute. And we are so fortunate to have him.

as "Adam"
Max Pratts is a New York Native. He is a well-rounded kid. His passion is baseball so we were super glad he took from his summer of training to come in and play "Adam." He is charming, funny, a good pianist and video-blogger. He is the young brother of one of Hollywood's most talented directors. So it evident his wonderful parents instill strong values and support. as "Victoria Christopher-Lee"
Janie Terrazas is known for her exquisite beauty as a model and bilingual television host. She has appeared in various magazines and won the 2011 Miss Beverly Hills Fitness competition. No surprise she has even sold a fitness show! She speaks English and Spanish fluently. We share a glimpse of her beauty and smiles in photos throughout "RISING SUN." She plays the newly deceased mother, wife of James Lee and daughter of Frank Christopher. The lively Janie has a wonderful personality and natural giving spirit!
